Born and raised in New York City. My work is influenced by time, temperature and gravity, and my tools are syringes and needles. My work uses resin mixed with pigments. The resin is my colleague, but it acts differently on different days. I do not know how the painting will ultimately look. It is more of a process of observing accidents and failures and turning them into a narrative. The resin seems to encode the passage of time – I actually feel the painting moving until it is fossilized like an insect in amber. I have become addicted to the unique qualities of resin as it leads me into the unknown.
